TO: Honorable Mayor & Members of the North Port Commission
FROM: Peter D. Lear, CPA, CGMA, City Manager
TITLE: Agreement between ImageTrend, Inc. and the City of North Port Fire Rescue to authorize transmission of electronic patient health information (ePHI) data to Intermedix for billing purposes.
Recommended Action
Authorize the City Manager to sign the attached agreement with our Report Management System (RMS) provider, ImageTrend, and to electronically transmit electronic patient health information (ePHI) data to our third-party billing agency (Intermedix) for processing.
Background Information
We are in the process of transferring RMS services to ImageTrend. Our previous RMS provider is discontinuing technical support of their program and their decision to sunset that program has caused data concerns for our agency. To successfully complete transition of RMS providers and enable our patient billing to continue through Intermedix, this agreement is required and protects the patient information that we gather as well as how it is electronically transmitted.
Once the City Manager signs the agreement, it will become effective and will remain in effect until cancelled by either party. Either party may cancel/terminate the Agreement with or without cause by giving at least thirty (30) calendar days written notice of termination to the other party.
The City Attorney has approved to form and content.
