TITLE: Approve recommending Thomas J. Noyes for appointment as the City of North Port Representative to the Sarasota County Bicycle/Pedestrian Trail Advisory Committee.

Recommend Thomas J. Noyes for appointment as the City of North Port Representative to the Sarasota County Bicycle/Pedestrian Trail Advisory Committee.
Background Information
In January we received an email from Mr. Patrick Lui letting us know that they had finalized the removal of Douglas Minich as the City of North Port Representative on the Sarasota County Bicycle, Pedestrian and Trail Advisory Committee Mr. Minich as removed because he did not meet the attendance requirements. We began announcing that the City of North Port was seeking applications for a City Representative for this Committee at the Commission Regular Meetings in January 2017 through April 11, 2017. The City Clerk’s Office worked with the Public Information Officer and had a press release sent to the Newspapers in February and March and the vacancies were announced in the paper. The City’s Public Information Officer also placed the request seeking applicants on Social Media. The City Clerk’s Office has received one (1) application from a Citizen of North Port who would like very much to be appointed to this Committee. The applicant is Thomas J. Noyes. Mr. Noyes is an avid cyclist, and has completed a Sarasota County Application and signed the document relating to mandatory use of County-provided email account for Advisory Council Members, he has also completed a City of North Port Application.
