TITLE: Approval to Reappoint Nancy Ceci as a Regular Member on the Citizens' Tax Oversight Committee, to Serve a Two-Year Term from April 12, 2022 to April 12, 2024.
Recommended Action
Approve Nancy Ceci for a second term as a Regular Member on the Citizens' Tax Oversight Committee, to serve a two-year term from April 12, 2022 to April 12, 2024.
Background Information
Currently, there are four vacancies on the Citizens’ Tax Oversight Committee (CTO). The City Clerk has received one application from Nancy Ceci and there have been no other applications submitted. The CTO meets once or twice a year to review the expenditures from the 1% Local Government Infrastructure Sales Tax. In 2020, during Ms. Ceci’s term, no meetings were held. There were four members on the Committee at that time and the reason is unknown why no meetings were scheduled. In 2021, two meetings were scheduled with one being cancelled due to lack of a quorum. Ms. Ceci did not contribute negatively to any meetings that were held or cancelled. A meeting for this year has not yet been scheduled. Ms. Ceci has been a resident of North Port for over 12 months, does not serve on any other Board or Committee, and proof of voter registration has been verified. Her application has been provided for review and consideration.
