Background Information
The Center for Digital Government has been conducting an annual survey of all United States cities, towns, villages and consolidated city/county governments since 2001. This survey examines the overall technology programs and plans that a city has completed in the previous year. The Digital Cities Survey provides an annual measure of city performance and innovation in using technology. As cities are constantly evolving in their efforts to advance, the survey also evolves to assess and identify emerging best practices. This year’s survey focused on Leadership Alignment, Citizen-centric, Data Governance, Cybersecurity, Innovation, and Best Practices to name a few.
At the National League of Cities’ annual conference Vice Mayor Luke was presented the 6th place award for up to 75,000 population. The City of North Port has been participating in this survey since 2010 and has been in the top 10 seven times.
