Approve Work Assignment 2023-01 with Stantec Consulting Services, Inc., in the Amount of $163,041.82, for the 2023 Water Distribution Improvements & Pipeline Bridge Replacement Project.
Background Information
As part of an ongoing program to improve potable water distribution system reliability, fire flow, water quality, and pressure as well as reduce the amount of flushing necessary to maintain water quality in the focus areas, Utilities is installing new water lines to loop the remaining dead-end lines throughout the City. In this program phase, dead-end water lines on Lubec Avenue, Lundale Avenue, Okolona Street, and Portage Street will be eliminated.
> July 22, 2022: Request for Letters of Interest (RLI) 2023-01 for the Water Distribution System Improvements Project was issued to the eight firms under Category 2 of Continuing Contract 2020-58 to secure professional engineering services to design, bid and provide construction phase services for the project.
> September 2, 2022: Four (4) Letters of Interest were received and evaluated.
> September 13, 2022: Stantec Consulting was selected to proceed with development of a scope and fee schedule.
Also, as part of the programmed replacement of aging bridge waterlines throughout the City, the Utilities Department plans to replace the pipelines affixed to bridges along Appomattox Drive with new pipelines installed under the waterways via horizontal directional drill.
