TITLE: Discussion and Possible Action Regarding the Loveland Center’s Interest in Rental of the Al Goll Building.
Recommended Action
Discussion and provide direction with regard to the Loveland Center’s recently expressed interest in the rental of the Al Goll Building.
Background Information
Recently, Sean McLaughlin of the Loveland Center contacted the City Manager, expressing interest in renting the Al Goll Building at Dallas White Park. The current state of the building does not make it rentable. Necessary repairs to make the building potentially rentable include:
• Entryway water fountain not functioning.
• Front counter is in disrepair and needs removal/replacement.
• Entire interior in need of wall repair and painting (outsource).
• Women’s room handicap stall needs new faucet, shut off valves and possibly trap assembly.
• Women’s room emergency light needs to be replaced.
• Men’s room handicap stall needs new faucet.
• Men’s room emergency light needs to be replaced.
• Men’s room door needs to be trimmed, rubbing floor.
• Kitchen area ceiling tiles need replaced.
• Kitchen area sink drains are not plumbed properly (outsource).
• Kitchen area sink sprayer broken.
Mr. McLaughlin has stated that the Loveland Center may be willing to coordinate their volunteers to make the necessary repairs to the building for their use. As Commission had previously given staff different direction, the City Manager is bringing this matter to the Commission for consideration and possible action to provide direction.
