Recommended Action

Present the Trick or Treat at City Green People’s Choice Trophy to Trolls World Tour, created by the Human Resources Department, City Clerk’s Department and City Commissioners.

Background Information

This year’s annual Trick or Treat at City Hall was modified to accommodate health, safety and physical distancing precautions and was held on October 29, 2021, outside on the City Center Front Green. Despite major changes in the layout and weather impacts including wind speeds at times over 20 mph, Trick or Treat at the City Green was a great success with 4,875 patrons in attendance. Suncoast Credit Union returned as Presenting Sponsor and Hoover Pressure Cleaning joined as a Silver Sponsor. In addition, 25 businesses and organizations participated in the Candy Corn Trail and 3 organizations partnered with the Parks and Recreation Department to provide additional experiences including a sensory zone by Clara’s Clubhouse, Scarecrow Stroll by the North Port Kiwanis Club and a free kid’s activity zone by Team Doogie Sports and Social Club.

In keeping with tradition, a friendly competition revolving around themes, décor and costumes was held amongst the City Departments that participated. This year, public voting was completed via social media and Trolls World Tour, created by the Human Resources Department, City Clerk’s Department and City Commissioners won with 187 votes.
