Approve the Comcast Business Service Order and Business Services Customer Terms and Conditions for internet service at Warm Mineral Springs Park for an estimated one-time connection fee and recurring annual service fees in the amount of $3,068.15.
Background Information
On September 27, 2022, Warm Mineral Springs Park was closed to the public as a protective measure in advance of Hurricane Ian. Due to extensive damage to the facilities as a result of the storm and public safety concerns identified in and around the buildings and grounds, the City Building Official condemned the buildings on October 19, 2022, and ordered the site closed so as not be an attractive nuisance. After completing due diligence, staff presented information related to the estimated costs associated with operational restoration of Warm Mineral Spring Park during the December 8, 2022, City Commission Special Meeting. Subsequent to discussion, Commission provided direction to give National and State Park Concessions, the site management company, a 90-day notice of termination of the Warm Mineral Springs Site Management Agreement. Additionally, direction was provided for the City to move as expeditiously as possible to open Warm Mineral Springs.
Parks & Recreation, along with Public Works and Information Technology are working through the logistics associated with reopening the site to the public which includes the placement of a temporary admission building.
