Recommended Action

 

Approve Ordinance No. 2018-53

 

Background Information

 

On May 8, 2018, the City and the Southwest Florida Police Benevolent Association (PBA) approved a new three-year union contract.  As part of that contract, there were certain provisions related to the Police Pension that need to be changed by amending the Pension Plan Ordinance.  The attached letter, Attachment 2, from the Plan Attorney was referenced in the PBA agreement as approving items 1, 3 and 4.  Ordinance No. 2018-53 was prepared by the Plan Attorney and reviewed by the City Attorney to incorporate the agreed upon changes.
