TITLE: Approve the Twelfth Amendment to Construction Manager at Risk Contract No. 2023-17.002 for Construction Services Contract, Phase II With Halfacre Construction Company in the Amount of $72,712.34, for Hurricane Ian Repairs at McKibben Park.
Recommended Action
Approve the Twelfth Amendment to Construction Manager at Risk Contract No. 2023-17.002 for Construction Services Contract, Phase II with Halfacre Construction Company in the amount of $72,712.34, for Hurricane Ian Repairs at McKibben Park.
Background Information
As a result of impacts from Hurricane Ian, McKibben Park suffered damage to the perimeter and sport court fencing, and picnic tables, as outlined in the Halliwell Construction Services and Rostan Damage Assessment Report.
In consultation with City Administration, the use of the Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) Continuing Services Contract has been identified as the most expedient path to complete this project. The following describes the CMaR process specific to this project:
> December 28, 2023: Work Assignment No. 2024-13FM was issued to Halfacre Construction Company for pre-construction phase (Phase I) services. During this phase, the Contractor evaluated the work required, obtained quotes from applicable contractors, and developed the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP).
> May 24, 2024: Halfacre Construction Company submitted a GMP proposal. This Amendment to Contract No. 2023-17.002 presented for approval is for the construction phase (Phase II) of the process. The Project Manager with the Department of Public Works provided a direct selection of Halfacre Construction Company as the preferred CMaR to carry out the project at McKibben Park and requests approval of this Amendment to proceed to construction.
