TITLE: Designation of the City of North Port Voting Delegate for the Florida League of Cities Conference.
Recommended Action
Approve the designation of a Voting Delegate to participate in the business meeting at the Florida League of Cities Annual Conference.
Background Information
Each year, the Florida League of Cities conference provides valuable educational opportunities to help Florida’s municipal officials serve their citizenry more effectively. At this conference, each municipality participates in the decisions made at the organizations business meeting. In order to participate in the meeting, the City of North Port must designate a Voting Delegate and submit the appropriate designation form to the Florida League of Cities by August 9, 2019. In 2018, Vice-Mayor McDowell represented North Port as the Voting Delegate.
The City Manager requests direction from the Commission as to who they wish to represent North Port in a voting capacity at the business meeting for the Florida League of Cities this year and authorization to complete and return the designation form.
