Recommended Action

 

Approve the Community Development Block Grant Sub-Recipient Agreement between Sarasota County, Florida and the City of North Port, Florida to fund staff salaries for the Social Services Division, in the amount of $55,000.

 

Background Information

 

The Sub-Recipient Agreement will provide the City of North Port with $55,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding, to be utilized for caseworker salaries in the Social Services Division. The staff are located at the Family Service Center and provides assistance to low-income North Port families and individuals.

 

This is the thirteenth year the City has received CDBG funding to offset staffing expenses associated with direct services to low-income families and individuals.

 

The Sub-Recipient Agreement has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.

This is a reimbursement grant. Monthly requests for salary reimbursements will be submitted, as outlined in the grant award, not to exceed $55,000 per the Subrecipient Agreement.
