The Greenest Citizen Award Program is designed to recognize a resident who has gone above and beyond when it comes to environmental stewardship and protecting the natural environment.  The North Port City Commission has deemed protection of the City’s natural environmental resources as one of the key pillars of the City’s Strategic Plan. The City of North Port has been designated a Certified Green Local Government by the Florida Green Building Coalition.  The City continually makes efforts to be more energy-efficient and achieve long-term cost savings. These efforts are in concert with maintaining the highest standards of environmental stewardship and preservation. The Greenest Citizen Award Program is designed to recognize North Port residents who also go above and beyond to protect our natural resources.
