Background Information
The City Attorney’s Office utilizes electronic resources to conduct legal research. There are two clear market leaders in electronic legal research - Westlaw by Thomson Reuters and LexisNexis. Since 2016, the City has been in a contract with Westlaw; that contract ends in April 2019. The City Attorney’s Office negotiated with both providers. LexisNexis offered a richer database at a lower price, locked in for a three-year period.
The City Attorney’s Office has reviewed this agreement for form and correctness.
