Recommended Action

City Commission approve and continue Ordinance 2022-28, repealing and replacing Chapter 4, Article III - Art Advisory Board, Code of the City of North Port to second reading.

General Information

The repeal and replacement of Chapter 59 of the Unified Land Development Code is proposed by Ordinance No. 2022-27, which is a companion to this Ordinance No. 2022-28.   This ordinance clarifies the membership, meetings, and powers of the Art Advisory Board, and adds to their duties:

To advise the City Commission regarding:

                     Public art expenditures per Chapter 59 of the Unified Land Development Code

                     Public art applications where public art departs from the general requirements in Chapter 59 of the Unified Land Development Code.

The City Attorney’s Office has reviewed this ordinance.

At its Regular Meeting on November 8, 2022, City Commission continued Ordinance No. 2022-27 to second reading on November 22, 2022, as presented.
