FROM: A. Jerome Fletcher II, City Manager
TITLE: Discussion and Possible Action Regarding Update on Dallas White Park Redevelopment Opportunity and Recommended Marketing Strategies
Recommended Action
Review and consideration of the updated recommendations from Colliers International regarding the Dallas White Park Redevelopment Opportunity and associated marketing strategies.
Background Information
During a Special Meeting on March 2, 2020 the City Commission moved to utilize the services of Colliers International through RFP 975-11940, the Real Estate Brokerage Services, City of Ft. Lauderdale, in order to create an expansion or development of Dallas White Park and other options including the east end and blending with Central Park. Colliers International has marketed the opportunity of a long term lease option, noting the desire of the Commission to maintain space for the existing services offered at the park.
After pausing marketing efforts during COVID, staff received communication from Ken Krasnow, Vice Chairman of Institutional Investor Services with Colliers International, stating that the Collier's team had modified the plans/schedule for the redevelopment opportunity to include a post summer/COVID launch and an anticipated closing in the second quarter of 2022. On November 15, 2021, City staff met with Mr. Krasnow to discuss the status of the redevelopment opportunity, current market conditions and potential strategy moving forward.
Colliers International has proposed an updated strategy and timeline to reactivate this redevelopment opportunity and are eager to present their recommendations for Commission consideration.
