TITLE: Interlocal Agreement Between the City of North Port, Florida and the School Board of Sarasota County, Florida for the Suncoast Community Technical College South Campus.
Recommended Action
Approve Interlocal Agreement Between the City of North Port, Florida and the School Board of Sarasota County, Florida for the Suncoast Community Technical College South Campus.
Background Information
Sarasota County has been working on constructing a new facility for the future Suncoast Community Technical College South Campus at the corner of Toledo Blade Boulevard and Cranberry Boulevard. On July 26, 2016, Commission approved a variance to the City Code Section 78-30 (f) to authorize the execution of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) permits while the Interlocal Agreement was in the process of both entities' legal review, thereby avoiding unnecessary delaying of the project's progress. However, appropriate approval of the Interlocal Agreement is now required to dedicate and provide warranty of off-site and right-of-way utility improvements and utility easements so the City may provide water, wastewater and eventually reclaimed water services to the property.
Legal has reviewed the Interlocal Agreement and approved it as to form and correctness.

Financial Impact
This Interlocal Agreement will provide for dedication of assets to the Utilities Department as well as adding at least one additional commercial account to the Utilities water and wastewater system.
