TITLE: Review of Advisory Board Recommendations and Possible Action
Recommended Action
Motion: To direct the City Manager to proceed with the purchase of 65 peace poles.
Motion: To direct the City Manager to pursue the addition of the two properties on Porto Bello Avenue, adjacent to Kirk Park, to the Sarasota County Property acquisition list.
Background Information
Ø The Art Advisory Board met on April 9, 2024, and motioned to “request Commission approval to proceed with the Peace Pole Project.”
Ø The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board met on April 18, 2024, and motioned to “recommend adding the two properties on Porto Bello Avenue adjacent to Kirk Park to the Sarasota County Property acquisition list and to continue to pursue the properties regardless if it is defined as one or two properties in the geographic information systems (GIS) map.”
