Recommended Action

 

Provide direction to the City Manager regarding sending a letter to the Sarasota County Commission.

 

Background Information

 

Commissioner Luke requested that this item be placed on the agenda for discussion.  At the June 11th Venice City Council Meeting the vote was 5-2 requesting that the County Commission send a representative to explain to the Venice City Council why they are redistricting prior to the completion of the 2020 census. Back up from that Venice City Council meeting is attached.
