TITLE: Discussion and Possible Action Regarding Possible Topics for Joint Meeting with Sarasota County Commission on May 18, 2023.
Recommended Action
Discussion and possible action to approve topics for the May 18, 2023, joint meeting with the Sarasota County Commission.
Background Information
On March 14, 2023, the North Port City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2023-R-13 authorizing participation in a joint meeting with the Sarasota County Commission to receive, discuss, and act upon matters of mutual interest.
In preparation for the joint meeting, the City Manager and County Administrator have communicated and developed a list of potential topics for the meeting. Items discussed for potential inclusion on the agenda and who would be presenting each are:
• 2017-2022 County Actions on Affordable Housing Update (Sarasota County)
• Growth Patterns in North Port Update (North Port)
• Mobility System Update (Sarasota County)
• Aquatic Center Update (North Port)
• Mosquito Management Update (Sarasota County)
• Southern Interchange Update (North Port)
The County administrator will also be presenting these topics to the County Commission for discussion at their April 11, 2023 meeting.
