TITLE: A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of North Port, Florida, Granting the Peace River Manasota Regional Water Supply Authority Permission to Construct A Portion of the Regional Integrated Loop System Phase 2B Interconnect Project within the Jurisdiction of the City of North Port, Florida; Providing for Incorporation of Recitals; Providing for Conflicts; Providing for Severability; and Providing an Effective Date.

Approve Resolution No. 2022-R-65.
Background Information
On August 15, 2022, the City received a letter from Manson Bolves Donaldson Varn, Attorneys at Law representing the Peace River Manasota Regional Water Supply Authority, (“Authority”) requesting consent to allow the Authority to construct new Authority Water Supply Facilities, specifically, a pipeline for Charlotte County, within the City of North Port’s jurisdiction. Under the Peace River Manasota Regional Water Supply Authority Master Water Supply Contract, paragraph 22.2.1, the City is required to notify the Authority within 60 days of receipt of the above letter of its decision to grant or deny consent. The Authority has agreed to coordinate a stub out for future potential connection to the City’s potable water supply and on any potential conflicts with City projects in the same corridors and staff recommends granting the requested permission.
Resolution No. 2022-R-65 has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.
