Recommended Action

Approve Change Order No. 2 to Work Assignment 2023-06 - Water Study Cost Benefit Analysis Project with Black & Veatch Corporation, for an additional amount of $74,292.00, for a total cost of $156,868.00.

Background Information

Utilities is planning to incorporate updated demand projections into the final Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) and include the updated cost models from Peace River Manasota Regional Water Supply Authority for additional capacity into the CBA; also included in the scope is preparation for and execution of a full-day City Commission workshop related to the Water Master Plan, updated demands, the water supply analysis and other items related to long-term water needs of the city. This change order is to complete updated demand projections and distribution system capacity analysis, based on these new projections from North Port Utilities (NPU).

> September 12, 2022: Black and Veatch Corporation (B&V) provided scope of services for the CBA.
> October 21, 2022: Direct Work Assignment issued to B&V for CBA as they are currently providing services for the Water Mater Plan and Water Supplies Facilities.
> November 01, 2022: Work Assignment 2023-06 with B&V was fully executed.
> April 28, 2023: Based on new projects provided by NPU, B&V was issued Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $34,232.00 to complete updated demand projections and distribution system capacity analysis.
> January 02, 2024: B&V was requested by NPU to incorporate updated demand projections into the final CBA and include the updated cost models from Peace River.
> March 29, 2024: B&V provided scope for this Change Order No. 2 in the Amount of $74,292...
