TITLE: Approve the Umbrella Memorandum of Understanding Between Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice, Inc. and City of North Port, Florida, for the Collaboration of Social Service Programs within the City of North Port.
Recommended Action
Approve the Umbrella Memorandum of Understanding between Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice, Inc. and City of North Port, Florida, for the collaboration of social service programs within the City of North Port.
Background Information
On October 1, 2022, following the landfall of Hurricane Ian, Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice, Inc., (CCDOV) began providing distribution services with the National Guard and has continued to provide distribution in North Port. CCDOV is required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to have a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in place with the City of North Port to be eligible to submit receipts for reimbursement for those distribution efforts.
Services to be provided at no cost to the City include mass care and emergency assistance including, but not limited to, disaster response, feeding operations, distribution of relief supplies operations, and recovery operations.
The initial term of the MOU is for five (5) years, and unless otherwise terminated, shall automatically renew for one additional five-year term.
