Background Information
During the City Commission Regular Meeting held on September 13, 2022, the Commission approved a motion to direct the City Clerk to draft a Resolution amending the Citizen Tax Oversight Committee to state “a majority of the appointed regular members of the committee shall constitute a quorum.”
After review by staff, it was determined that the Citizen Tax Oversight Committee is a standing Advisory Board and should be governed by Chapter 4- Boards and Committees of the Code of the City of North Port, Florida. The Committee’s membership, meetings, and powers and duties have been reviewed and clarified to provide for efficient and effective board function.
Quorums for the Committee is covered in Section 4.4(b) of the Code of the City of North Port, Florida.
Ordinance No. 2023-11 has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.
