Background Information
On July 24, 2019, Jamie Busch, Equipment Operator III, Operations and Maintenance Division of the Department of Public Works had an accident while working with a concrete saw on a catch basin. Mr. Busch sustained serious injuries to his face and neck. Mr. Busch’s coworkers called 911 and the North Port Fire Rescue District Paramedics quickly responded to the scene of the accident.
Recipients of the “Above and Beyond” Award demonstrate an attitude of excellence; teamwork and they aspire to go “Above and Beyond” the expectations of their job duties. The Department of Public Works would like to present Paramedics Jason Sousa and Shawn Krajic of the North Port Fire Rescue District with the “Above and Beyond” Award for their lifesaving efforts by promptly providing medical attention; stabilizing Mr. Busch and then transporting him to the hospital for medical treatment.
