TITLE:	Approve the Application to the Florida Legislature for the Blue Ridge / Salford Neighborhood Water and Sewer Expansion Phase II Project for Consideration in the Fiscal Year 2024 State of Florida Appropriations in the Amount of $2.25 million, and Authorize the City Manager or the Mayor, as Applicable Under the City Charter, to Execute all Funding Documents After Legal Review, Should the Grant be Awarded to the City of North Port.
Recommended Action
Approve the application to the Florida Legislature for the Blue Ridge / Salford Neighborhood Water and Sewer Expansion Phase II Project for consideration in the Fiscal Year 2024 State of Florida Appropriations in the amount of $2.25 million, and authorize the City Manager or the Mayor, as applicable under the City Charter, to execute all funding documents after Legal Review, should the grant be awarded to the City of North Port.
Background Information
At the September 12, 2023 Regular Commission Meeting, City Commission approved the following projects for Federal and State 2024 Appropriations Requests funding consideration:

>	Water and Sewer Service Expansion
>	Bridge Improvements
>	Water Control Structures
A request for funding of the Blue Ridge / Salford Neighborhood Water and Sewer Expansion Phase II was selected for State Appropriation consideration. Phase II of the Blue Ridge / Salford Neighborhood Water and Sewer Expansion project is anticipated to cost $4.5 million. The City is asking for the State to appropriate $2.25 million. If approved, this request would fund approximately 10,260 linear feet of sanitary sewer piping installation that will connect 115 properties to City sewer services.
