TITLE:                     Discussion and Possible Action Regarding Bestowing a Key to the City and/or Other Ceremonial Item to Bill Gunnin at a Future Commission Meeting (Requested by Mayor Stokes).

 

 

Recommended Action

 

Option 1: Direct the City Clerk to create an agenda item for the next ceremonial Commission Meeting to present Bill Gunnin with a Key to the City and/or other ceremonial item.

Option 2: Decline to present an award to Bill Gunnin.

 

On August 6, 2025, Commissioners received an email from Gid Pool requesting a Key to the City and Proclamation recognizing Bill Gunnin for his work as the Executive Director of the local Chamber of Commerce. On August 11, 2025, Commissioners were queried regarding their desire to support a Key to the City and/or any other ceremonial item for Bill Gunnin. On August 15, 2025, Mayor Stokes responded in support of the recognition for Bill Gunnin.
