Background Information
This Proclamation was requested by Evan Ackerman on behalf of Children First, Inc.
Since 1996, Mr. Tavill has guided Children First through transformative growth and innovation, expanding access to Early Head Start services, strengthening family-centered programming, and building impactful community partnerships that support children and families across Sarasota County.
Under his leadership, Children First has achieved national distinction, including ranking in the top 1% of Head Start Programs nationwide and earning multiple Program of Excellence designations, setting a standard for quality, accountability, and lasting outcomes.
Through his vision and dedication, Mr. Tavill continues to shape a stronger, more resilient community, ensuring that generations of children and families have the opportunity to thrive.
