Recommended Action

 

Continue Ordinance No. 2020-09 to Second Reading.

Approve Ordinance No. 2020-09 as presented.

 

Background Information

 

Section 2-54(2)a of the Code provides policies and procedures for requesting and issuing proclamations.

 

During the September 24, 2019 Meeting, there was a motion for staff to bring back information or a Resolution adopting the Policy and Procedure for Proclamations and Ceremonial Items. In order to adopt the policy by Resolution, an Ordinance Amending Section 2-54 is necessary. Resolution 2020-R-03 adopting the policy will be on the July 28, 2020 Regular Meeting agenda.

 

On February 25, 2020, Commission provided direction to continue Ordinance No. 2020-09 to coincide with the same meeting taking place with Resolution No. 2020-R-03.
