Recommended Action
Appointment of Kathleen Garrity and Philip Lamade as the Alternate I and Alternate II Members on the Planning and Zoning Advisory Board to Serve a Term from January 12, 2021 to January 12, 2025.
Background Information
Currently, there are two vacancies for an Alternate I and Alternate II Member on the Planning and Zoning Advisory Board. The vacancies were announced as required. The City Clerk has received two applications and it is requested that the Commission appoint one applicant as the Alternate I Member and the other as the Alternate II Member. The first applicant is Kathleen Garrity. Ms. Garrity has never served on a North Port Advisory Board or Committee, has been resident of North Port for over 12 months, and does not presently serve on any other Boards or Committees. The second applicant is Philip Lamade. Mr. Lamade previously served on the Planning and Zoning Advisory Board with a term ending November 22, 2020. Prior to his term ending, he sent an email dated October 28, 2020, stating he would not renew his appointment. He has since changed his mind and would like to be considered anew. During his tenure his attendance was excellent. There have been no other applications submitted. The applications are provided for review and consideration.
