Recommended Action

Approve Supplemental Minimum Wage Agreement with the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA).

Background Information

The 2022 - 2023 General Appropriations Act states that the Agency for Health Care Administration shall enter into a supplemental wage agreement with each provider (North Port Fire Rescue) to ensure compliance with the minimum wage requirement. This agreement is required in order to receive payment for services provided covered by Medicaid.  Providers with an enrollment type of full, limited, or Referring, Ordering, Prescribing, and Attending (ROPA) are required to log into their Florida Medicaid Secure Web Portal account and sign the supplemental wage agreement before October 1, 2022. Per City Attorney’s guidance, in addition to the electronic signature, an additional copy containing a wet signature will need to be filed with the City Clerk.

A staff review confirmed that all Direct Care Workers are currently above the pay rate that the agreement is requiring.
