Recommended Action

 

Approve the implementation of the Warm Mineral Springs Park Experience Vintage Florida Welcome Back Celebration from April 12, 2023, through April 25, 2023.

 

Background Information

 

During the March 30, 2023, City Commission Regular Meeting, the City Commission approved a soft opening program for Warm Mineral Springs Park providing a total of five free days access for users regardless of operating hours. Pending approval from the State of Florida Department of Health, a tentative re-opening date of Friday, April 7, 2023, has been set with the soft opening to commence on this same day, ending on April 11, 2023.  At the conclusion of the soft opening, staff is proposing the implementation of a Warm Mineral Springs Park Experience Vintage Florida Welcome Back Celebration from April 12, 2023, through April 25, 2023, to include the following:

 

Ø                     Public access to Warm Mineral Springs Park at special admission rates of $5.00 per Sarasota County resident and $7.00 per non-resident, with children ages 5 and under free.

 

Ø                     A variety of food vendors will be invited to participate in the 14-day celebration at no charge to provide options for the purchase of food and beverage in the absence of concession services.

Based on historical attendance data, it is anticipated that $42,350 in revenue will be received during the Experience Vintage Florida Welcome Back Celebration.
