Recommended Action
Approve Resolution No. 2022-R-22 as presented.
Background Information
The City Attorney’s Office reviewed Florida Sunshine Law and Florida Attorney General Opinion (AGO) regarding reviewing and revising draft City Commission meeting minutes and advised that meeting minutes must be revised on the record.
It is authorized to circulate draft minutes to board members for concurrence and suggested corrections prior to placement on an upcoming agenda. However, if there are revisions to the minutes, the board must vote on the revisions with discussion. Revised minutes cannot be approved on the Consent Agenda.
The attached policy has been revised to address the procedure required to comply with the Sunshine Law when meeting minutes are revised prior to adoption.
