TITLE: Approve the Appointment of Keith Brown for a Fourth Term as a Trustee to the North Port Police Officers' Pension Board of Trustees.
Recommended Action
Approve the appointment of Keith Brown for a fourth term as a Trustee to the North Port Police Officers' Pension Board of Trustees.
Background Information
On September 28, 2023, Mr. Brown will complete his third term as a Trustee for the North Port Police Officers' Pension Board of Trustees as the North Port Resident appointed by the Commission. The vacancies have been announced as required. The City Clerk has received one application from Keith Brown and there have been no other applications submitted. Mr. Brown has been a resident of North Port for over twelve months and does not currently serve on any other Board or Committee. Florida Statutes 112.3143(6) regarding conflict disclosures is not applicable for this applicant. The Board’s legislation (attached) states that “Each resident Trustee shall serve as trustee for a period of two (2) years…and may succeed himself or herself in office.” His application has been submitted for review and consideration.
