TITLE: Recognition of the Suncoast Blood Bank

Background Information
In late February 2020, City of North Port employees were involved in accidents and sustained serious injuries. These employees required multiple blood transfusions. To show support and help facilitate their medical needs, City staff hosted a Blood Drive in conjunction with the Suncoast Blood Bank on March 3, 2020.
The Suncoast Blood Bank quickly organized the Blood Drive and more than 100 people donated 90 units of blood. The Blood Drive was very successful, and the Suncoast Blood Bank staff worked tirelessly until 6:00 p.m. on March 3, 2020. There were still City employees waiting to donate blood as the Blood Drive ended that day, so the Suncoast Blood Bank graciously scheduled another Blood Drive on March 5, 2020.
The City of North Port would like to recognize the Suncoast Blood Bank for their support, hard work and dedication during both Blood Drives to support the injured City employees in their time of need.
