Recommended Action
Discussion and possible action regarding the City possibly hosting a Memorial Day Event, modified in keeping with current COVID-19 guidance.
Background Information
Each year, the City of North Port participates in the annual Memorial Day event hosted by the American Legion Post 254. The City recently received correspondence from American Legion Post 254 that they are cancelling this year’s Memorial Day Event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mayor McDowell has requested discussion on the possibility of the City hosting a modified event to honor North Port’s brave fallen heroes.
