TITLE: Utilization of City of Sarasota Agreement for Analytical Laboratory Services with Benchmark Enviroanalytical, Inc. for services per unit pricing, on an as needed basis, for an annual estimated amount of $145,080.00 for FY 2019-20.


Recommended Action

Approve the utilization of City of Sarasota Agreement dated July 13, 2018 for Analytical Laboratory Services with Benchmark Enviroanalytical Inc. for services per unit pricing, on an as needed basis, for an annual estimated amount of $145,080.00. Authorize the City Manager to approve the utilization of future extensions of this Agreement.

Background Information

The Utilities Department budgets annually for analytical laboratory and testing services for both the water and wastewater systems to remain in compliance with Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Sarasota Department of Health regulations. The annual estimated amount of $145,080 has been budgeted for fiscal year 2019/2020 and is contingent upon Commission approval of the budget.

City of Sarasota Invitation to Bid #18-08BK was competitively procured and awarded to Benchmark Environanalytical, Inc. per the terms of the Agreement for Analytical Laboratory Services. The Agreement became effective July 16, 2018 for one year, with two additional one-year extension periods. The first extension was approved by both parties and is effective through July 15, 2020. Per Section 16 of the Terms and Conditions of the original Invitation to bid, the City of North Port is eligible to procure services based upon bid pricing and the Utilities Department has received approval from both parties to utilize the current agreement.
