Recommended Action
Discussion and possible action.
Background Information
At its February 7, 2022 meeting, the Environmental Advisory Board (the Board) discussed a draft memorandum to the City Commission requesting more Board involvement in approving future development waivers that may impact the environment. At its regular meeting on April 12, 2022, the City Commission discussed the Board’s request and was concerned with proper processes being followed.
On May 12, 2022, a memo was sent to the Board on behalf of the Commission requesting proper protocols be followed. On August 3, 2022, the Commission received a memo, through the proper channels, requesting the Board be included with matters related to the granting of waivers to the open space requirements and for review of minimal parkland as contained within Section 37-14 of the Unified Land Development Code.
