TITLE: Family Service Center Tenant Lease Agreement with School Readiness Coalition of Sarasota County, Inc. dba Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County in the amount of $1,862.

Recommended Action

Approve the Tenant Lease Agreement with Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County for a term of one year, effective October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017, to provide 133 square feet of furnished office space (B104) in the Family Service Center at a cost of $14/sq. ft. for an annual lease of $1,862, or $155.17 per month.

Background Information

This will be the eighth year that the Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County's Child Care Connection program has been providing services at the Family Service Center. This program connects families to resources for quality early childhood education including individualized assistance in locating a child care provider, registration for Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) and financial assistance for child care to families that qualify.

The lease amount of $14/sq. ft. is unchanged from the current lease agreement. A provision has been incorporated in the terms of the lease to allow tenants to automatically renew after the initial term. It also provides the commission with the ability to increase rents after proper notice.

The 2016-2017 Tenant Lease Agreement has been reviewed and revised by the City Attorney's Office.
