TITLE: Approve the License Agreement for the Manatee Technical College/City of Bradenton Law Enforcement Training Center, By and Between the City of Bradenton, the School Board of Manatee County, and the City of North Port, Florida, on Behalf of the North Port Police Department for Use of Firearms Training Facility.
Recommended Action
Option 1: Approve the License Agreement for the Manatee Technical College/City of Bradenton Law Enforcement Training Center, By and Between the City of Bradenton, the School Board of Manatee County, and the City of North Port, Florida, on Behalf of the North Port Police Department for use of firearms training facility.
City Commission Options
Option 1: Approve the License Agreement for the Manatee Technical College/City of Bradenton Law Enforcement Training Center, By and Between the City of Bradenton, the School Board of Manatee County, and the City of North Port, Florida, on Behalf of the North Port Police Department for use of firearms training facility.
* Pros: Approval of the Agreement will provide the North Port Police Department with an additional training facility for required firearms training and qualifications, while maintaining operational readiness and compliance with established training standards.
* Cons: Utilization of the Manatee Technical College Law Enforcement Training Center may result in increased travel time.
Option 2: Deny the License Agreement for the Manatee Technical College/City of Bradenton Law Enforcement Training Center, By and Between the City of Bradenton, the School Board of Manatee County, and the City of North Port, Florida, on Behalf of the North Port Police Department for use of firearms training facility.
* Pros: Prevents North Port Police Department personnel from having to drive out of the City limits for training.
