TITLE: Approve Fifth Amendment to Construction Manager at Risk Contract No. 2023-17.003 for Construction Services Contract Phase II With Ajax Building Company, LLC., in the Amount of $256,618.33, for Repair Services to City Hall and Immediate Site.
Recommended Action
Approve Fifth Amendment to Construction Manager at Risk Contract No. 2023-17.003 for Construction Services Contract Phase II with Ajax Building Company, LLC., in the amount of $256,618.33, for repair services to City Hall and Immediate Site.
Background Information
Due to Hurricane Ian, City Hall and its immediate site sustained damage and require a variety of repairs. Some of the repairs to be completed include, but are not limited to:
> Pressure washing and cleaning the exterior of the building.
> Replacing broken windows.
> Caulking the exterior perimeter of the windows.
> Resetting pavers and sidewalks.
> Replacing signage.
The work included in this Contract is to restore City Hall and its immediate site to its pre-Hurricane Ian condition. Staff continues to work with representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Rostan Solutions, Inc., and the insurance provider, Halliwell, to identify funding availability for reimbursement of this project.
Upon evaluation of the project, the use of the Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) Continuing Services Contract has been identified as the most expedient path to complete this project. The CMaR Contracting process includes the following two phases:
> Phase One: The contractor is selected and issued a Work Assignment for the Pre-Construction Phase. During this portion of the project, the contractor evaluates the work required, obtains quotes from applicable contractors, and develops the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP).
