TITLE:                     A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of North Port, Florida, Relating to Senate Bill 378 and House Bill 207 Designating the Florida Scrub-Jay as the Official State Bird; Providing for Incorporation of Recitals; Providing for Conflicts; Providing for Severability; and Providing an Effective Date.

 

 

Recommended Action

 

Adopt Resolution No. 2021-R-57 supporting designating the Florida Scrub-Jay as the official state bird of Florida.

 

Background Information

 

At its Regular Meeting on November 23, 2021, the North Port City Commission discussed support of Senate Bill 378 and House Bill 207 designating the Florida Scrub-Jay as the official state bird.   During the meeting, Commission directed staff to bring back a resolution based upon the draft which was provided in the supporting documents with the agenda item.

 

Staff has created Resolution No. 2021-R-57, which has been reviewed by the City Attorney as to form and correctness.
