Discussion and Possible Action Regarding Temporary Code Enforcement Policy for Non-Commercial Signs in the City’s Public Rights of Way.
 
Background Information
 
Currently, no signs are permitted to be located in the City’s public rights of way. During the next six months, City staff will be further investigating possible approaches which may involve amendments to the Unified Land Development Code or adoption of Administrative Policies by the City Commission permitting certain signs in the City’s public rights of way.
 
As such, the following Temporary Code Enforcement Policy is proposed for City Commission consideration and approval:
 
Ø                     Temporary Code Enforcement Policy
 
Effective immediately, the City’s Code Enforcement Division staff will not remove “non-commercial signs” which are located in the City’s public rights of way. This Policy will remain in effect until new regulations regarding signs located in the City’s public rights of way are adopted by the City Commission.
