Recommended Action

Approve Insight Platform Terms of Service to obtain a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Software Subscription in the amount of $19,068.75.

Background Information

The City of North Port's Information Technology Division is purchasing a SIEM tool to improve resilience and to achieve coverage across the City's internal environment. The following includes the capabilities of the SIEM tool:

> Security center for incident detection and response; authentication monitoring and endpoint visibility.

> Identifies unauthorized access from external and internal threats and highlights suspicious activity through thousands of data streams.

> Collects data from existing network security tools; authentication logs and endpoint devices and unifies City data into a single security view.

> Sends alerts for suspicious activity and prioritizes events based on the level of criticality.

The Insight Platform Terms of Service to obtain a SIEM Software Subscription has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.

Financial Impact

The subscription cost for these services is $14,628.00 and a one-time implementation and training cost of $4,440.75 has been included in the approved City Manager, Information Technology Division Budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023, account numbers 001-0710-516-31-05 and 001-0710-516-54-00.

Procurement

Procurement is being made in accordance with the Administrative Procurement Thresholds set forth in the Purchasing Procedures Manual.
