TITLE: A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of North Port, Florida, Amending City Commission Policy No. 2020-04 Related to the Procedures and Methods for Public Comment in City Commission Meetings and Workshops; Providing for Incorporation of Recitals; Providing for Conflicts; Providing for Severability; and Providing an Effective Date.
Recommended Action
Adopt Resolution No. 2023-R-27.
Background Information
During the City Commission Regular Meeting held on October 13, 2020, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2020-R-30, and City Commission Policy No. 2020-04.
During the City Commission Workshop held on March 6, 2023, the City Commission provided a consensus to direct the City Clerk to bring back a policy to include public comment process on Consent Agenda items, as well as to bring back suggestions for a process to handle public comment cards more efficiently, without it creating distractions.
Resolution No. 2023-R-27 has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.
