Background Information
First Reading
On June 23, 2020, the City Commission discussed the procedures for quasi-judicial hearings and directed that an ordinance be presented to define the criteria for aggrieved or adversely affected persons.
The Code of the City of North Port, Florida, Section 2-81 provides the notice procedures for an aggrieved or adversely affected person for quasi-judicial proceedings. This ordinance amends Section 2-81 to clarify the notice procedures for aggrieved or adversely affected persons appearing in a quasi-judicial hearing.
Second Reading
On January 12, 2021 at first reading, the City Commission requested clarifying language regarding the disqualification of an aggrieved person’s notice in successive hearings before the Planning and Zoning Advisory Board and the City Commission. The clarifying language appears in the last sentence of subsection (c).
