Recommended Action

City Commission Options

 

Option 1: Approve letter of support for the Wastewater Pumping Station Upgrade Project for a Federal Appropriations Request.

 

                     Pros: This letter supports the City’s 2027 Federal Appropriation request of $1,680,000 for the Wastewater Pumping Station Upgrade Project.

                     Cons: There are no foreseeable cons to approving this letter.

 

Option 2: Deny the letter of support for the Wastewater Pumping Station Upgrade Project for a Federal Appropriations Request.

 

                     Pros: There are no foreseeable pros to denying this letter.

                     Cons: The City would be unable to apply for a Federal Appropriations request for this project.

 

Background Information

 

City staff is preparing a request for Federal Appropriations. The request is for the upgrade of wastewater pumping stations in the amount of $1,680,000. The project will upsize four (4) existing wastewater pumping stations to spur and support commercial economic development in the northeast region of the City. The upsizing is necessary for wastewater system expansion to occur.

 

Representative Steube’s office has indicated that a letter from the City is required for the application.
