TITLE:                     Resolution No. 2016-R-26 authorizing and directing the acquisition of sixteen (16) parcels for stormwater retention ponds as part of the Price Boulevard widening project from Sumter Boulevard to Toledo Blade Boulevard

Recommended Action

Consider Resolution No. 2016-R-26

Background Information

In January 2016, American Consulting Engineers of Florida, LLC prepared a Pond Siting Report.  Based on that report, staff has identified sixteen (16) parcels that are necessary for stormwater retention ponds as part of the Price Boulevard widening project.

On September 28, 2015, the City Commission approved Agreement 2015-19 with Charlotte Engineering & Surveying, Inc. to design the widening of Price Boulevard between Sumter Boulevard and Toledo Blade Boulevard.

On July 26, 2016, the City Commission considered a proposed amendment No. 1 to the contract that included funding for land acquisition services to acquire the 16 parcels.  The City Commission removed the funding for the land acquisition services and instructed the City Attorney to acquire the 16 parcels instead.

Resolution No. 2016-R-26 provides the authorization the City Attorney needs to begin acquiring the 16 parcels.  The listing of the 16 parcels is attached as an exhibit to the Resolution.
