Background Information

The Florida Festivals & Events Association's (FFEA) mission is to promote and strengthen the festival, event and fair industry in Florida; their vision is to be the leading resource for festival, event and fair professionals and organizations in Florida.

Since 1994, FFEA has grown to more than 800 members strong and collectively represents 5,500 events throughout the State of Florida. For the past 31 years, the Florida Festivals & Events Association has celebrated members' achievements in event marketing, programming, service, and innovation through the SUNsational Awards.

The SUNsational Awards Program recognizes members' innovation, individuality, and creative collaboration with entries judged in three different budget levels and 20 different categories. Over 200 events submitted their materials for consideration in 2025.

The City of North Port Parks & Recreation Department received the following three (3) awards:

> 1st Place Social Media Ad Campaign for the Pumpkin Plunge event
> 2nd Place Event Brochure for the Playbook publication
> 2nd Place Event Recap/Annual Report for the 2024 Department Impact Report

Suzanne Neve, CEO of the Florida Festivals & Events Association, will be present to recognize the Parks & Recreation Department's accomplishments. Kim Lencki, Community Partnerships & Engagement Manager, will accept the awards on behalf of the Parks & Recreation Department.
