Recommended Action
Approve a three-year tenant lease agreement with Air Methods Corporation, Inc. and the City of North Port for designated space at Fire Station 81, 4980 City Center Blvd., North Port for $19,656.00 per year with 3% annual escalator for office/living space to operate air medical transport services.
Background Information
Air Methods Corporation, Inc. which operates the Bayflite air medical transport helicopter is requesting a tenant lease with the City of North Port. Air medical services have operated at this location for a period of seven years. The original lease was for a one-year period with two additional renewals that were granted for additional three-year periods.
The helicopter provides emergency transport services from emergency scenes or from emergency facilities to medical facilities with higher care capabilities such as trauma, burn treatment, cardiac, or stroke services.
The contract has been reviewed and approved as to form and content by the City Attorney and by the City Risk Consultant.
